This banner is a community project. I help organize it but I'm not a dictator and I am not buying pixels, I get the same amount of paint as everyone else. If you find that your artwork is being erased, please read this.
There are two kinds of art here.
Sending the message is the first priority. Decorating the banner is encouraged as long as it does not attempt to cover, obfuscate, or interfere with the banner's message or the links to this page. If artwork is created which substantially diminishes the message that the banner as a whole sends, then that artwork will be overwritten by the main banner.
If you are indeed trying to decorate in good faith, then here are some guidelines which will reduce the likelyhood of your art being overwritten.
It may not technically be griefing to draw random watermelons and pineapples all over everything until the banner is unreadable, but it's also not griefing for us to delete them and restore the banner. There are more of us than you, so if you are pro-AI, you're not going to win here - there's 4.1 trillion pixels in the world, leave these ~100k alone and draw someplace else.
It's probably obvious by now, but I signal that there's an update by updating the version number next to the main URL. If you see a number higher than the last one you remember, check the site again!
Also, remember that the URL is really the only way of organizing everyone, so it's the top priority to keep the URL visible.
First of all, thanks for holding down the fort while I was on vacation last weekend. I was only able to devote a few minutes a day, but I saw that there was another attempt to cover up the banner with the ultrakill mural which you folks repelled pretty handily. Great job.
Second of all, it seems like griefers have changed tactics. There are a few people who seem to persistently flood fill parts of the mural with junk every morning. There's also a couple of people who vandalize primarily text messages, either erasing them, changing the message, or adding loss memes to them. They frequently target the trans area and messages, so pay attention to those both in and around the mural for evidence of vandalism. Continued attempts to scramble or obfuscate the main URL do persist, although they're less common now. If you see any of these things, revert and report.
Third, a few people have noticed that the yellow flower patch under the turtle has expanded a little far. If we can keep it more or less confined to the red area of the 🚫, that would be awesome.
Fourth, it seems the mural has become host to a voidcreature. It seems well behaved, maybe we can keep it.
Finally, I am now saving backups of the NO AI banner and surrounding area every 15 minutes. If something gets griefed and you want to restore it exactly as it was, feel free to poke me on discord.
